Geneva C. MacFarland

Geneva C. MacFarland of Mullica Hill, aged 104 years, was called home by her Lord and Saviour early Thursday morning December 6, 2018 at her residence. Born in Bridgeton, she was the daughter of the late Walton R. and Bertha (nee Hendrickson) Chew, and the wife of the late Homer C. MacFarland, who passed away in 1977. Geneva was a homemaker, and was a longtime resident of both Cumberland and Gloucester counties. Growing up, she lived in the Seeley Lake area of Upper Deerfield Twp.. She loved cooking, sewing, and doing needle work. She especially loved making clothing for her grandchildren, great grands, and friends. She loved eating out and especially going to the Point 40 diner in Pole Tavern. She was a longtime member of the Hardingville Bible Church in Monroeville, where she enjoyed the Senior Saints luncheons and events at the church. She was a devoted wife, wonderful mother, grandmother and friend. Surviving her are her two children, Stephen MacFarland (Frances), and Sonya MacFarland, all of Mullica Hill, her brother, William Chew (Marty) of Montana, a sister in law, Charlotte Chew, her grandchildren, Timothy MacFarland, Michael MacFarland (Kelly), Cristy DiBella (Alfred), and Jeremy MacFarland (Julie), her great grandchildren, Casey Williams, Cody MacFarland, Brianna MacFarland, Luke MacFarland, Jacob DiBella, Jackson MacFarland, Allison MacFarland, Kerri Joy DiBella, Tatum MacFarland, Rylie MacFarland, Kylie DiBella, Brandt MacFarland, Lennox MacFarland, Levi Gouse, her namesake Geneva MacFarland, and many many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Besides her parents and husband Homer, she was predeceased by sisters and brothers, Marquerite Bailey, Hannah Garrison, Walton Chew Jr., Cornealius Chew, Charles Chew, Joseph Chew, and Wilmer Chew. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from the Hardingville Bible Church 979 Whig Lane Road, Monroeville, NJ. Pastor John Mark Turner and Pastor Terry Smith will officiate. The interment will be in Chestnut Grove Cemetery, Elmer. A viewing will be held from 9:30 a.m. till 11:00a.m. at the church, prior to the service. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in memory of Geneva to the Gloucester County Christian School, 151 Golf Club Rd, Sewell, NJ 08080.
